Coffee News came to fruition from
Jean Daum's passion for advertising and enjoyment of fun, light hearted reading over coffee. Jean, who's background was in advertising designed the restaurant publication to be filled with humorous stories, facts, trivia, horoscopes, local event listings, and small to medium sized business advertisements.

Jean Daum's passion for advertising and enjoyment of fun, light hearted reading over coffee. Jean, who's background was in advertising designed the restaurant publication to be filled with humorous stories, facts, trivia, horoscopes, local event listings, and small to medium sized business advertisements. Community was important to Jean and Coffee News, and she wanted to give back. In doing her research she realized she had a formula where by using different psychological techniques and advanced learning methods that would boost readership and ad effectiveness.
The first publication issued was launched in Winnipeg restaurants, and cafes where they became near impossible to keep stocked. Then they started to branch out as copies from Winnipeg started to travel across Canada on flights.
This grassroots growth inspired Jean to turn Coffee News into a business opportunity and franchise. Eventually,

This grassroots growth inspired Jean to turn Coffee News into a business opportunity and franchise. Eventually, in 1995 the publication arrived in the United States where Bill Buckley started the first American franchise. Bill seeing the potential in this brilliant business took this idea to the next level aiding entrepreneurs all over the country to make a living working from home. Over 1990' and 2000's the publication expanded globally, finding great success in Australia, Spain, New Zealand, South Africa, Poland and Northern Ireland.
From there you can say the rest is history.
Today, Bill Buckley is the President and CEO along with Candice Daum the President of Coffee News ® Canada. Together they work closely to continue Jean's vision of supporting local entrepreneurs and small to medium sized businesses.
